El Casal ofereix classes de català per adults tot l’any, malgrat que tothom pot afegir-s’hi en qualsevol moment recomanem apuntar-s’hi al principi de cada semestre. Les classes són en línia i gràcies a aquest format s’hi pot apuntar gent d’arreu.
El preu de la matrícula es dedica exclusivament a materials i plataformes per enriquir l’experiència de l’alumnat amb l’ús d’eines com ara Kahoot o Quizlet i llibres de text que les professores usen. Gràcies a la matrícula, les professores, que són voluntàries i no reben remuneració, poden crear materials accessibles sense cost addicional per a l’alumnat.
Les classes tenen com a objectiu familiaritzar l’alumnat amb la cultura dels Països Catalans a través d’activitats que donen prioritat a la comunicació mitjançant tasques que reflecteixen l’ús quotidià de la llengua. Les professores tenen en compte les necessitats i prioritats de l’alumnat i per això demanen que s’ompli el formulari d’inscripció que adreça els objectius, rerefons i necessitats de cadascú.
Tenint en compte que només s’ofereixen dos nivells, encoratgem tothom qui s’interessi pel català a apuntar-s’hi, independentment del nivell. Les professores fan un esforç per adaptar-se als diversos nivells oferint recursos i reforç addicionals per a diversos nivells. Així que no cal sentir-se intimidat/da, farem tot el que puguem per ajudar-vos a posar-vos al dia!
Quan?
A partir del 7 de setembre ens trobarem cada dissabte, però atenció que alternem els nivells cada dues setmanes, de 9.30 a 10.30 del matí (EDT).
- El nivell A2 (inicial avançat) farà 8 sessions començant el 7 de setembre (07/09, 21/09, 05/10, 19/10, 02/11, 16/11, 30/11 i el 14/12).
- El nivell B2 (intermedi avançat) farà 8 sessions començant el 7 de setembre (07/09, 14/09, 28/09, 12/10, 26/10, 09/11, 23/11 i el 07/12).
Malauradament, no podem oferir classes per a principiants absoluts en aquests moments, però podem oferir informació per estudiar català independentment i esperem oferir un curs d’aquestes característiques a l’estiu.
Quant costa?
40 dòlars per semestre (de setembre a desembre). Si voleu, podeu venir a una classe de prova abans de decidir-vos!
Persones amb la quota al dia al Casal Català de Washington D.C. reben una quota reduïda de 30 dòlars.
Estudiantat universitari amb motivació pot unir-se als cursos gratuïtament. Indiqueu-ho al formulari d’inscripció i ens posarem en contacte amb vosaltres.
Com m’hi apunto?
Apunta-t’hi fins al 5 de setembre. També t’hi pots apuntar més tard, però tindran preferència aquells qui s’apuntin dintre del termini establert. Aquesta data permet que les professores es puguin preparar d’acord al nivell i el nombre d’estudiants.

El Casal offers Catalan classes for adults all year round, although anyone can join at any time, we recommend signing up at the beginning of each semester. The classes are online and thanks to this format people can sign up from anywhere.
The tuition fee is dedicated exclusively to materials and platforms to enrich the student experience with the use of tools such as Kahoot or Quizlet and textbooks that the teachers use. Thanks to the registration, the teachers, who are volunteers and do not receive remuneration, can create accessible materials at no additional cost to the students.
The aim of the classes is to familiarize the students with the culture of the Catalan Countries through activities that give priority to communication through tasks that reflect the daily use of the language. The teachers take into account the needs and priorities of the students and therefore ask that you fill in the registration form that allows us to identify the goals, background and needs of our students/
Considering that only two levels are offered, we encourage everyone who is interested in Catalan to sign up, regardless of level. Teachers make an effort to accommodate multiple levels by providing additional resources and reinforcement for multiple levels. So don’t feel intimidated, we’ll do everything we can to help you get up to speed! Currently, we are UNable to offer a course for absolute beginners, but we are hoping to be able to do so in the future!
When?
Starting September 7th, we will meet every Saturday, but note that we alternate levels, every other week from 9.30 to 10.30 AM (EDT):
- Level A2 (advanced beginner) starts on September 7th and meet for 8 sessions (09/07, 09/21, 10/05, 10/19, 11/02, 11/16, 11/30, and 12/14).
- Level B2 (advanced intermediate) starts on September 7th and meet for 8 sessions (09/07, 09/14, 09/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/09, 11/23, and 12/07).
Unfortunately, we cannot offer a level for absolute beginners at this time. However, we can offer information to people for independent learning and we hope to offer an absolute beginners course over the Summer.
How much is it?
$40 for the whole semester, from September through December.
Members of the Casal Català de Washington D.C. have a reduced fee at $30.
Motivated students enrolled at a college or university can get their fees waived, just indicate it in the sign-up form and we will contact you.
How do I sign up? What if I have questions?
Sign up by September 5th. Later registration is possible, but spots are first come, first served. Registering by this date allows the teachers to prepare for the number of students and their needs.
